Using Recruiting Hashtags with Twitter

With iRecruit you can push your jobs out to your social media followers at the touch of a button. With Twitter you can take advantage not only of your own followers, but also your followers contacts, and people searching using Twitter hashtags.

What are Hashtags?
The # symbol, called a hashtag, is used to mark keywords or topics in a Tweet. It was created organically by Twitter users as a way to categorize messages that can be searched. See Twitter FAQ for more details.

Recommended Hashtags for Recruiting

Once you have used iRecruit to push the requisition info out to the Tweet window (seen above) you can add in your hashtags at the end of the Tweet. We recommend using the following hashtags in your Tweet:

  • #jobs
  • #hiring
  • #recruiting
  • #jobtype - put in the job type
  • #yourlocation - put your location in the tweet so it can be found by people search for jobs geographically
  • #state - also include your state
Don't forget to ask your Twitter followers to retweet by putting in "Please RT" or "Please Retweet" at the end of the post, this will help you reach more potential applicants.
