Job Market: What’s Ahead for 2013?
A year ago, many conversations about labor market growth came with a caveat: “It will depend on the election.” While that contest has been settled, not much has changed for job seekers. As it was in early 2012, uneven economic conditions are still what weigh most on the U.S. labor market engine. Nonfarm payrolls grew at about the same monthly rate in 2012 as they did in 2011, and, currently, there is no hard evidence that jobs will be created at a quicker rate in 2013.

Hiring managers can commit a litany of sins, such as interrupting interviews to answer phone calls, failing to take notes, acting bored or distracted, bad-mouthing their own companies, bullying applicants, or asking "gotcha" questions for no reason at all, say human-resources consultants. The cost of poor interviews ranges from bad hires to alienated job applicants.
Are Credit Checks an Effective Pre-Employment Screening Technique?
No. According to Time Magazine, 70% of undergrads and 96% of graduate students carry a card credit while only 10% pay their bill on-time each month. College debt is a loaming issue for students who can’t afford to pay in cash for their education.
